Message In a Bottle
July 01, 2001

- Description
- A large ceramic bottle, made using press moulds allowing the inside surfaces to be decorated and a message to be left inside. It is then fired, glazed and placed into the outdoor environment. A tree is planted through the hole in its side and allowed to grow...
As the tree grows, so too does the visual impact. The bottle may be absorbed by the tree and lifted off the ground. When the tree outgrows the bottle, years later, it will shatter releasing the messages written on the inside for the world to see and piece together.
