De La Warr Pavilion

Robert Frith takes part in 'It Starts From Here' - an exhibition of proposals and new ideas in response to the De La Warr Pavilion. Open from the 22 June - 9 September at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea

In response to WW2 German bombers using the De La Warr Pavilion as a marker on the English south coast on their route into London, Frith’s proposal looks at the use of camouflage at the De La Warr Pavilion. Invisible from a bird’s eye view, the pavillion’s disguise would be achieved through a series of products e.g. chimney pots, roof tiles and conservatories, transferring the Victorian red brick of Bexhill onto the Pavilion.
